*The Ship Inn has 5 en-suite rooms at present, with generous hospitality trays and comfortable beds. We look to provide our guests with a distinctive stay that is as individual as our Georgian Inn. Our rooms range from small doubles to large and family friendly ones. All are booked on a bed and breakfast basis, which will certainly not disappoint.

We offer a small double, two other doubles ( one zip and link) and an adjoining family suite with a double and two singles. We also have a large double with a sofa bed if required.
All rooms have a TV, hairdryer and generous hospitality trays.
We serve you a full English breakfast from 8-9.30 am daily. This is downstairs in the first and second areas of our restaurant.
If you have a special request for breakfast and outside these times, please let us know and we will do our best to facilitate your request. We are in Dorset, so fresh milk is available to collect!

We hope you will be able to enjoy our garden during your stay and check in on the Chickens and Ducks in their coop by the old piggery.

The Inn closes to customers during the afternoon from 3 - 6 but you will have access via the front door with your key and we will be hear to meet you, of course.

The Ship is an individual and quirky old coaching Inn that has welcomed travellers for centuries. We sit on an old route which was made into a road for travelling from London to Cornwall back in the late 1600s.
The story is that the Ship was constructed not only of beautiful local stone, but using the timber from- yes, old ships. So, floors creak and roll in some parts and the beams have been exposed in others.
There has, of course, been modernisation over time- we no longer lock up prisoners in the end Restaurant, for example!
And, as new owners we will contribute to its next stage of development- so expect modest changes on your return visits, as we hope to welcome you again
