DescriptionThis is a 12 mile (20km) on and off road circular route passing by Stephens Castle Nature Reserve, Dorset Heavy Horse Centre and Edmondsham House.
The starting point is at Verwood Heathland Heritage Centre and there is a free car park next to it.
The terrain is a mixture of bridleways, roads and grassy tracks. Some bridleways can be rutted and very muddy. 25% of the time the route is on road with a few short sections on a B road. 75% of the time the route is off road. There is 1 hill to climb up to Telegraph Hill.
Places to stop for a rest or refreshment include the cafe at Verwood Heritage Centre, Fleur de Lys pub at Cranborne, Sheaf of Arrows pub at Cranborne and Cranborne Manor Garden Centre.
