DescriptionThis is a 15 mile (24km) cycle route with an option to shorten the route to 8 miles (13km). Bridport and Netherbury were once the centre of rope-making in West Dorset - discover their industrial past along with the wonders of the Jurassic Coast. From Bridport you will pedal out to the isolated villages hidden in the secret Marshwood Vale under the shadow of the ancient hill forts of Pilsdon Pen and Lewesdon Hill. Follow the River Brit through idyllic villages like Netherbury and Symondsbury. Look out for the beautifully restored traditional Dorset fingerposts pointing the way. Finish up at West Bay for locally caught fish and chips, sitting on the beach, listening to the waves break on the pebbles of Chesil Bank and watching the sunset.
